“I Can’t Draw!” Drawing Workshop

May 3, 2017 Event, Workshop

There is so much more to drawing than drawing from life! In this series of workshops, we will explore different ways of drawing, and mark making, trying a variety of media and techniques. This is an opportunity to shake up your ideas of being artistic, and let your adventurous spirit reign. Each class will be an opportunity to try new materials, or familiar materials in new ways, focusing on creativity and exploration over final compositions. Drawing is a create way to shake up our perspective, a way of loosening creativity with just a few basic items.

This class is designed for those who want to do something creative but think they cannot draw or are not artistic because they never mastered 2 point perspective. This class is also good for working artists who want a fresh approach to their work, in any medium. This is a 4 week series designed to shake up ideas about drawing and help anyone develop a drawing habit. These classes are open to anyone regardless of drawing experience. New students who thought they could not draw will have an opportunity to explore materials in a playful environment and practicing artists will have an opportunity to try new creative approaches, whatever their medium.

Classes will be held on 4 Thursday nights–May 3,10,24 & 31 from 6 until 8 pm at Paper Machine 6330 St. Claude Ave, New Orleans. All materials are provided. The fee for this class is $145. ***please note there is no class on 5/17***
