Tulane Photo Mixtape
Jonathan Traviesa‘s photography class at Tulane put together a beautiful book of photographs broken up into sections based on a theme. Each section begins with a photograph of a short, quickly jotted down verse related to the theme at hand. “Skate” includes some gorgeous action shots of skateboarders in the city, both full color and black and white, as well as a bunch of fun, colorful skate decks and graffitied walls. “Vietnam” is fascinating, depicting bold primary colors of food markets, statues, and the trivialities of everyday life for people living in Vietnam. Last is “Water,” which gathers images of the levee, swamps, and river, in dark, dreamlike tones.
